Annual Assessment

Once a year, the BTSR issues self-evaluation forms to all license holders employing more than 20 people.

We're interested in outcomes not outputs. These forms are not designed simply as a box ticking exercise measuring raw data on the volume of training or amount of money spent. They measure the impact of the training and development activity on the performance of individual businesses.

Broadcasters evaluate their own performance against a set of quality standards.

A recognised, independent audit firm (currently PwC) ensures the data is valid and consistent by auditing a sample of the completed forms.

This gives us the opportunity to assess the state of training in the industry, share best practice and make constructive suggestions for improvement.
