Freelancers

An important part of our work is looking at how this critical group is able to develop its skills.

Time and funds are in short supply, a freelancer's workload is unpredictable and few have the back-up of an employer encouraging them to train. To understand the impact of these pressures and to identify the effectiveness of any provision currently in place, such as the Freelancers Fund, we run events for freelancers around the country.

Following our successful event last July, a similar evening took place at Pacific Quay in Glasgow On Monday 11th February 2008 specifically for freelancers. At this event around 40 freelancers shared their experiences of training and discussed how training provision could be improved in the future.
